- Packs more than 100 connected and AI-driven features, a figure that dwarfs the typical connected scooter offering.
Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup E3 Electric.AI has officially launched its debut electric scooter, the E3 TRION, positioning it as India’s first AI-powered intelligent electric scooter.
The TRION arrives in three distinct variants — C1, C1x, and C2 — with a starting price of Rs99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), placing it squarely in competition with established players like Ather and River.
What sets the E3 TRION apart is its deep integration of artificial intelligence into the very fabric of the riding and ownership experience. The company describes the scooter as being built around human-centric design paired with predictive intelligence.
Its modular architecture and smart systems are designed to continuously adapt and learn, meaning the scooter is supposed to get better — safer, smarter, and more intuitive — the more it is ridden.
“The E3 TRION has been crafted keeping Indian families in mind, where daily commuting demands reliability, practicality, and peace of mind,” Sanjeev P., Founder and CEO of E3 Electric.AI, said.
“By making the technology adaptive and the experience intuitive, we want every day travel to feel smoother and more dependable. This is a meaningful step toward mobility that’s not only efficient, but genuinely aligned with what modern Indian riders expect.”
At the heart of this intelligence sits the E3 COMMANDCENTER, the company’s proprietary IoT core and cloud intelligence platform. This system constantly monitors every connected vehicle on the road, analyses performance data in real time, and predicts potential issues before they result in breakdowns.
The outcome, E3 Electric.AI claims, is proactive service scheduling and over-the-air software improvements delivered throughout the scooter’s lifetime.
Over 100 intelligent features
The E3 TRION packs more than 100 connected and AI-driven features, a figure that dwarfs the typical connected scooter offering. Among the most notable:
- AI HEALTHSCAN — a 10-second full-vehicle diagnostic that checks critical systems at the tap of a button
- E3 Foresight — predictive maintenance reports that alert riders to impending issues before they escalate
- Smart Trip Planner — integrated navigation with a real-time charger locator, helping alleviate range anxiety
- Remote battery monitoring and vehicle controls — accessible via a companion smartphone app
- Connected navigation with live vehicle data — real-time insights into speed, battery status, motor temperature, and energy consumption
- Dashcam, SOS assistance, and geo-fencing — layered safety and security features aimed at everyday urban riders
These features are underpinned by the E3 COMMANDCENTER’s continuous cloud connectivity, which E3 Electric.AI frames as the differentiating factor in a segment where connectivity often amounts to little more than Bluetooth pairing and basic telematics.
Variants and powertrain
The three TRION variants are tailored to different rider priorities, spanning range, convenience, and performance.
The C1 serves as the entry point, featuring a removable 2.3 kWh VOLTPORT battery based on LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry. The swappable, portable design is aimed at riders who may not have dedicated parking with a charging point, enabling them to carry the battery indoors for charging — a practical consideration for apartment dwellers and urban commuters.
The C1x steps up with an IDC-certified range of 165 km, powered by a larger 3 kWh fixed LFP battery. This variant is targeted at users who prioritize extended range and fewer charging stops.
The C2 is the performance-oriented variant, offering a top speed of 82 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in 6 seconds in Sport mode. In addition to Sport mode, the C2 retains the Eco and Power riding modes available across the C1 and C1x lineup.
All variants ride on 14-inch wheels, chosen for their ability to absorb the kind of rough, potholed roads common across Indian cities. The under-seat storage is rated at 52 litres, generous enough for a full-face helmet and everyday carry items.
Pricing and availability
The E3 TRION is priced competitively across its three variants:
- E3 TRION C1 — Rs99,999
- E3 TRION C1x — Rs1,09,999
- E3 TRION C2 — Rs1,19,999
All prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru. Customer bookings have commenced initially in Bengaluru, with sales expected to expand to additional cities in the coming months. The scooter is available in six colour options, giving buyers a reasonable palette to choose from.
